This is a renovation of a well loved beach which brought shade, activities and amenities to this very broad width of beach sandwiched between mid and high-rise residential/hotel buildings.
The unified design approach, focusing on the user, creates an icon for the City.
The park’s entry plaza was redesigned to incorporate interactive fountains and shade sails. The redesign of the park incorporated many new amenities for major city events like outdoor concerts and volleyball tournaments. Other amenities include tennis courts, a new tot lot, picnic shelters, bike racks, lifeguard headquarter facility, restroom facilities, showers, and custom drinking fountains with mist heads.
Additionally, the dune system was enlarged and enhanced, protecting the shoreline and blocking light from reaching nesting sea turtles. Initially completed in 2010 and encompasses about 17-acres.
